Lee Hitch-hikes to Blackburn

Before the season got underway, there were rumours of a swoop by Premiership Blackburn Rovers for young 'keeper Richard Lee. When Lee failed to even make the bench for the first 5 games of the season, it certainly looked like a move was on the cards. Despite seeing one bid turned down, Rovers this week landed the player on a season-long loan deal, with the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season for an initial fee of £500,000.
Watford now find themselves with just on-loan rookie Ben Foster and veteran player-coach Alec Chamberlain to cover the goalkeeper position for the season ahead, and an emergency loan may be needed should either 'keeper pick up a significant injury.
However, the wages saved may be used to boost the Hornets' striking options ahead of the new campaign. With Junior's move collapsing and Martin Devaney being allowed to leave the club for Barnsley, Watford really need another body up front to cover for first choice pairing Marlon King and Darius Henderson.
The signings a week ago of Malky Mackay and Matthew Spring have ensured that the Hornets have adequate depth at the back and in the middle of the park, whilst both will also add vital experience to the side and will be key players this term.
