90 minutes from Cardiff
May 9, 2006

I don’t think anyone in their wildest dreams would have expected us to be in the position we are going into this 2nd leg of the Championship Play-offs.

Winning 3-0 away from home, at a ground that rarely pays us any favours with our results was a massive achievement.. we have a 3-0 buffer.. but in no way is this game over yet.

Palace showed us in that 1st half particularly that they can unlock our defence to make opportunities, but they lacked the stunning clinical finishing that we shocked them with in the next 45 minutes.

Tonight’s game will settle on whether Dowie has the guts to throw everything at us from the start, knowing the fact that we are at our most dangerous when teams come at us, catching them with devastating counter attacks. Palace now have nothing to lose, on paper they are out, but this game isn’t played on paper and the first goal of the game will define how the evening goes. An animal can be at its most dangerous when wounded, and make no mistake that we wounded Palace seriously on Saturday.

This is now THE game of our season, a possible 90 minutes of joyous celebration, or equally 90 mins of nail destroying tension and nerves.

With Aidy Boothroyd we have someone special, this is one of the few games this season where now WE are now the favourites with everything to lose. As supporters we could have a very important role today, if Palace get the first goal lets not go quiet and panic… lets SING LOUDER, and get right behind our boys.. if we do, then we could well be due a fantastic day in Cardiff on the 21st.
