Dear Hornets Supporters,
Request for supporting the Watford FC Lotteries
My name is Maik Fischer and I am the new Lottery Manger at Watford FC. Over the last weeks I had very interesting conversations with a lot of Hornets Supporters. It was good to learn about peoples thoughts and opinions who have been following our club over years or decades respectively. One of these was the gloryhorns.co.uk initiator James Hannaford. I have already told James about my former experiences in the lotto business and also highlighted the great potential at Watford. The fact that all monies raised goes directly to fund our club will support our aim. During my first week at the club I was visiting and studying the lotto business at much smaller clubs than Watford FC across the UK. This convinced me that we can have a big impact on funding the future of Watford FC, if supporters and Lottery staff will be working together. Therefore, I presented James a possibility to set up a win-win situation for all people involved in the Club. This scenario would look like this:
You - the supporters - play the club's Goldrush lottery by using the link on this website. For 1 a week you will receive 5 lucky numbers that will be in the draw every Tuesday. By playing you have the chance to win prizes worth up to £1,000 (1 x £500, 2 x £50, 10 x £10 and before every home match 10 tickets).
James and I agreed that some money gained will be used to maintain the gloryhorns.co.uk website and most of the money will be spent on a big supporter's football tournament at the end of the season. The actual sum of money can be seen on gloryhorns.co.uk, where James will set up a counter.
That means that all parties will win. The club is raising money through the lottery, the lottery playing supporters get the chance to win a lot of good prizes along with raising money for a big season final supporters football tournament and gloryhorns.co.uk collects money for maintenance.
I also assured James that the Lottery Department will operate transparently and I will keep you informed constantly. In detail, I will disclose and explain the applications of the raised money in the end of each season, e.g. if the club has bought a new net for a goal etc .
I would be very pleased, if you would support my Department to turn around fortunes for the clubs lottery business and I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
Maik Fischer
