Pizza Pod - a review
Aug 24, 2006
Author: Robert Peel

On balance, this particular cuisinal item on sale from the food kiosks is somewhat better than its name and advertising picture suggest.

An unusual fusion of the classic British pie crust enveloping a rich vegetarian Italian tomato sauce with peppers and onion flavoured with herbs, coupled with chunks of mozzarella. On the downside, it's a bit small and the mozzarella wasn't equally dispersed around the pod.

Whilst it appears to have superseded the rather bland cheese and onion pasty as the vegetarian option at Vicarage Road, it still has the same annoying ability to posses the characteristics of molten lava inside. Best left to cool down until way into the second half.

At £2.00 it almost represents good value in the crazy over-priced world of sustenance at football matches.

It also seemed a lot easier to get served in the Rookery and we had time to get a beer and a 'pod' AND drink the beer before the second half started. This after not leaving our seats until the half time whistle went.
