An out of form Tranmere at home.

Us in good form but will probably give squad players a go.

Ought to win but ... can see it being a 0-0 type game!

Hmm..

What happened there!

Let's hope we don't get too many more injuries to key players on that form !

Experienced players were rubbish and Chalobah/Quina going off didn't help.

Pereyra kicked out at the end.

Pereyra mistake is unfortunate. I thought Success put in a shift. Youngsters (led by Bachman) largely played like youngsters (either a bit scared or fading at the end). Good to get some of these blokes a run out in front of Pearson though.

We just lacked game management and they had nothing to lose.

Pedro did his best but we were just overrun 2nd half .

Didn't go, didn't watch, didn't listen but heard Gray getting a total slating from a few fans on TalkShite - was he that bad?

Not bothered, means nothing other than NP getting a look at some other players. We don't need a cup run this season.!!
I do get more worried each week with the amount of injuries and sending off, and I really think GP needs to get at least 3 players in soon as cover, even if loanees. LB, CB and utility midfielder....
NP seemed annoyed with the fitness of some..?

Was up against a big strong guy who seemed to have his number - just doesn't seem able to get the ball or control it.

Success was better but still needs to use his power more or stay on his feet.

Don't you just get feeling that too many of our players go out there with a deep seated thinking of.. "oh - I have to do something special here" and the basics go out the window.?
I would send Success out saying "go out there, run your legs off and let their CB know you're there."
On the other hand GD seems to have realised more just lately that he can't just go for goal every single time he gets the ball. He is def playing much more for the team now...
Huge game next week, Bmth are weak at the back due to injuries so we have to take it to them and just outscored them....

Well quite an incentive for Tranmere!

Would we play a weaken team v Man U or Wolves ?

Pereyra appeal successful.

Replay next Tuesday- so pretty much be the same team as Saturday.

I bet Tranmere were hoping for a TV bonus. Spurs / Boro is a particularly uninspired choice.

Post subject:  Re: FA Cup

I assume that NP will pick the team on the basis of when it's played going forward.? Saturday FA cup games may include several of the first 11 but mid-week replays will not.
The starting 11 from Saturday would have won that game if Chabs and Quina had been able to finish the match, losing 2 and then Pereyra was too much.
When NP made the point about the fitness os some second string players I assume he was having a dig at Quina, who is probably pushing to be given game time but then got cramp...?

Well Lineker probably fancied presenting from the Spurs ground rather than a trip up north to watch our 2nd string..

Sure he will have a little dig ready if we lose!

Prem survival is 100 times more important than a little FA cup run.... I would not blink if we lost on Tuesday... (sorry)

Have to be played this week or on 4th round weekend.

If Wolves win their replay the 4th round tie could be played the week of 27th Jan but Man U have a League Cup semi that mid week so that wouldn't work if they won.

£25 pounds to potentially watch 2 reserve sides.

Seems rather expensive - I know both clubs have to agree the price and well Man U are greedy !

1-0 at HT.

BBC says Gray hasn't touched the ball!!

Sums that up ..

Be prepared to be proved wrong but doubt it.

Saves £25 and getting cold !!
