Players wages..

The squad have deferred some of their wages which whilst its probably not the* pay cut called for by some including the Government its better than nothing.

https://www.watfordfc.com/club/statemen ... ral-agreed

There was some fuss about bonuses from last season which upheld things allegedly - maybe more worryingly it probably had an impact on this.

Maybe they will come back more motivated to stay up because if we went down they certainly wouldn't be seeing that money any time soon!

GD might well be fit by the time football returns - I cannot see it being allowed to be played behind closed doors as has been suggested - the Government won't have one rule for football and another for everyone else.

*I think they were advised not to by the PFA and agents - I can see some of our lads taking a pat cut if really forced to...well 4/5.

Can't profess to know enough about this stuff but "Football" at top level has really shown itself up quite embarrassingly.
The rest of us are battling to stay healthy, companies are literally right on the edge, and I guess a lot of well paid furloughed people are getting their max £2500 a month to live on, etc etc.
Then we have players on £40k to £250k a WEEK quibbling about taking a 30% deferral. No one else gets a deferral.!!!
So eg Deeney now has to try and get by on a measly little £45k a week (guesswork) for a couple of months.??
Not really heroic.....?
Not having a dig at our guys specifically but football is not covering itself in glory lately....

Ceratainly was bad PR but they probably won't care ..

A lot of them probably won't be at the club in a year or 18 months time .

Showing Prem footballers for what they really are.

And a load of Liverpool fans on Twitter wetting themselves that they might be signing Willian. How anyone can get excited about who might sign what at the moment is so beyond me, when the equivalent of two full 747s are crashing every day. Meanwhile the Prem want to get all the matches done and dusted by July. Indescribable.

Well all the clubs are saying they will lose money so presume they won't be spending big ...

Particularly players past their best in their 30s.

I agree - no chance of any games for a whille .
