We've only had 45 minutes and already VAR/goal line technology has cocked up.

No doubt Villa will go and win now.

I can just see the July headline now.... "Villa avoid relegation on goal difference after vital VAR mistake in first game of restart.....
(insert relegated club name here) are furious that they have been relegated unfairly and are taking legal action etc..."

Didn't see it but heard a bit on radio whilst working, atmosphere was a bit lacking :|
Not a bad result for us, thought Villa would win that.

Seems to be a total lack of goals in the first half and it does seem strange with no fans.

The crowd noise is ok but its not really the same is it.

I really hope we can stay up this season, however I am now coming to terms with the idea we will probably be relegated in the end. To be honest we have been dire most of the season and I have two key conclusions....
1) we just don't have enough fit gritty players that can grind out a result now and then, and too many players that have flair but are very inconsistent.
2) we have a squad now that is too imbalanced, ie we have some decent players that are getting long in the tooth, and loads of youngsters that are a few years away from being properly useful in the Prem.
Hence we don't have many real options other than the main 13 and anything else is a gamble.
I don't see us beating Norwich and that will likely see us relegated, sorry but that's how I see it.

On the bright side, the next two seasons could be really tough financially and a season or two in the c/ship might give us time to reshape, bring on our youngsters, and clear out all the deadwood..

I can see Muff getting 3pts tonight vs Newcastle, might even see West Ham get something against Chelsea.

Well it's all summed up when your 2nd choice striker decide to have a lockdown party less than 48 hours before a game.

For all we know Gray might have even started as an alternative on Sunday.

Chalobah* certainly might have done (it seems he wasn't there)

*Which makes you wonder even more about the team unity.

Surely if you lived with someone who was thinking about going to such an even which is illegal you'd try to stop them going?

I fear all the talk of cancelling the season for x reasons which were valid I guess might have got to us a bit.

Not fully focused and prepared to kick off.

Leicester game was good but even at the end of that despite scoring we looked 2nd best in terms of fitness and pace.

Sarr seems to be trying to win fouls all the time or doing half decent crosses which no one gets to as they are too slow.

Defence seems to be ropey again after a solid spell - all 3 central defenders have managed to have poor games since the comeback.

Midfield is slow and not pushing forward with power like Doucouré can do sometimes.

When even Foster is making errors you have to wonder if its just not to be.

No doubt we'll actually played well at Chelsea but lose to a VAR decision!

I agree with the former - at home against a side who'd just have a cup tie v Man City chasing the ball around.

if Bournemouth don't win that they probably never will - got Man U/City and Spurs after that.

West Ham will potentially lose tonight but I feel they will beat Norwich and Burnley in future games and have Villa on the final day at home - plus us.

If they go down then their owners and players really do deserve a load of stick! (Maybe not quite so personal but that is football fans for you)

Vila are already complaining about too many games so like us maybe have a negative mindset on the season.

Good grief - they really were rubbish.

Mind you we have Newcastle to play!

Yes - kept going even after a few unlucky moments.

They have Burnley, us , Norwich and Villa to play - so should be good enough to get points.
