OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION: Sean Dyche

Hornets say thank you to outgoing manager

WATFORD FC confirms that it has terminated the contract of First Team Manager Sean Dyche, with immediate effect.

On behalf of the club, the Pozzo family acknowledges that Sean’s positive contribution to Watford FC dates back long before his appointment as manager in June 2011.

The Pozzo family also recognizes Sean’s impeccable conduct, representing the Hornets with honour and dignity at all times.

His achievements under difficult circumstances mean that he will rightly be held in high regard by Watford supporters.

Everyone at the club extends their warmest wishes to Sean for the future.

Hopefully Zola will be appointed over weekend and be at the training ground 7am Monday! Or is that too much to ask?

That's the it then ! I just hope that they don't expect any loyalty from any one in return ! It's a very sad day for the football fans with morals that hope for loyalty from their best players and managers, but after this i expect nothing but mercenaries. I also don't expect any great improvement with young continental loans coming in even without the cultural differences they like so many young talented kids can find it hard to handle the physical side of the championship.Only time will tell but i for one think we are in for a very hard time next year , not the great leap forward more of a immoral muddle i think.

We don't expect too much here, that's why we're happy with still being in the championship
I am easily satisfied with the very best.

Get real, you don't get the Pozzo's for half a deal. Loyalty is for hounds and I bet you can't say immoral muddle and Laurence Bassini in one sentence without smirking at what you've just written.

This time in a month Dyche will have a better post than the one he's just left and we will still have a club to support.

I'm also very happy being a championship team ! just finding it had to see why we dig up all the foundation that worked well for us to start all over again ? p.s. i'm glad to see Laurence open and honest Bassini go !!! and immoral muddle Laurence Bassini yes you are right.

So the foundations get relaid, they weren't all that good anyway. Assuming the Pozzo's can help us reach and sustain a place in the Premiership it will mean far more security than we have had, which let's face it was at the whim of a (insert word). Pozzo's are a family business not some faceless conglomerate, just be grateful for that.

Sorry guys, I've heard from a very reliable source that Zola's changed his mind but Vialli has given his word that he'll take over and should do so early next week so relax...

This is the most distant I've felt from Watford FC in over 30 years of supporting them.

And molly that really must be an exaggeration, we've had much bigger downs in that time. Face it Dyche was never going to provide what the Italian's need and like any manager worth his salt he probably refused a backward move to assistant.

Without the the Pozzo's we were facing a very rocky road, sure I'd trust Sean to keep us up on bare bones for many seasons but not Bassini to keep us afloat and that was the alternative. Sorry mate but sometimes you've got to take it on the chin ...

Let the good times roll.

It really isn't an exaggeration. There have been some ropey times, but I can't remember ever feeling so strongly against a decision the club has made (apart from playing Devon White, obviously) in all my time as a Watford fan. 'Sean, you did an amazing job, we all respect you and you're obviously a great manager. Now F*** off.'

What would have been so hard about giving the bloke the chance he deserved, and if after say, 15 games it was clear he was out of his depth, then take the decision, based on facts and not guesswork?

He is out of his depth when it comes to the football they want and that's not guesswork so why deny their chosen man a pre-season?
